Note from the EG Chair:
As the Novato Charter School Auction Chair, I pray for the continued safety and health of our greater community. I wanted to share how proud and thankful I am of our community, that even in times of crisis, we have been able to come together to support our school in ways that we never thought possible.
Special thanks go to our amazing crew of volunteer parents and NCS staff, who were initially disappointed to learn that our physical event was canceled, but were able to quickly transform this critical fundraising event into an entirely online experience. As a result, I am happy to say that the event has been a tremendous ongoing success.
Through everyone’s support and generosity, we have amazingly surpassed our fundraising expectations! Final details will be shared in the near future, as the event is not yet over.
We still need your help with the vital fund for Fund in Nedd. We are only at 21.5% of our goal, you are still able to contribute by viewing this link. Fund In Need. In addition, we will hold a fire sale today, Friday, April 3rd from 3-9 pm, we have a handful of items that have been heavily discounted.
I want to personally thank the following people that have worked over 10 months on this event, without you I could have never done this. Stacy Garcia, Faera Taylor, Alex Barnes, Jasmine Riffle, Carmen Froemke, Laurie Lawson, Kat Olsen, Brooke Pazli, Emily Studer, Amy Khan, Sara Terkaly, Tara Riley, Corina Kelly, Barbie Sewing, Catherine Alsterlind, Angelica Kristen, Aniko Miertiz, Kris McCallum-Keeler, Kris Vine, April Jackson, Laurelle Anspach, Jen Thompson, Tracey Osterman, Andra Ogden, and Leif Salvesen.

Dear Friends and Supporters of Novato Charter School,
It is our pleasure to welcome you all to the Eighteenth Annual Enchanted Garden auction, that 70’s Auction, Giving is Groovy! This event brings our community and friends together to raise funds vital to the ongoing success of our school.
The Enchanted Garden Committee is comprised of many enthusiastic volunteers who have devoted countless hours planning and organizing this event. They demonstrate the cooperative, hardworking, spirit of our community and it is inspiring to watch so many dedicated parents work together on behalf of our school. Their commitment is a reflection of the community we’ve built and the level of generosity from our parents and donors is extraordinary.
Remember, giving is groovy, and every dollar you spend at the Enchanted Garden directly benefits our children.
Now let’s take a trip back in time to That 70’s auction! Where were you in the mid-’70s? Nikki was living on the east coast, running about with her many cousins, in her bell-bottomed pants and long "Brady Bunch" hair (albeit likely unbrushed) roaming free and catching lightning bugs! April was enjoying beautiful Colorado days, playing Weebles, and learning to rollerskate. We’ve come a long way and are fortunate to be here with all of you.
Peace & Love,
Nikki Lloyd & April Jackson
Due to Covid-19 the EG committee will follow all recommendations of the MCHD, NCS and the MCOE.
Please know that some signup parties were canceled due to the party's date. We sincerely apologize for this.

Dear NCS Community, March 12, 2020
We are reaching out to our community today with an important announcement regarding our Enchanted Garden event, “That 70’s Auction”. After careful consideration, we have decided to cancel the physical event scheduled for March 21st at Marin Country Club and move our entire "event" to our Online Auction. Our online event will take place from March 16th-March 29th!
We still need everyone’s support in raising funds that would traditionally come from the physical event and we are hopeful this will be our most successful online auction ever! EG is our LARGEST fundraising event and supports the NCS Foundation in raising funds that are vital to reaching the annual fundraising goal of $320,000! These funds allow NCS to support our faculty, improve our core educational programs, maintain our facility, continue our incredible Specialty Programs such as; Movement, Handwork, Spanish, Music, & Gardening, and so much more.
In order to pull this off, we need your support! In addition to the amazing items you would typically bid on in our online auction, you will now be able to participate in the Fund-in-Need and Live Auction through the Online Auction. Please read below for exciting details, we don't want anyone to miss out!
Live Auction Items
The Live items that you typically see at the physical event, will now be featured online on March 21st, from 9 am-8 pm. We have incredible items that will only be sold during this period of time. These are some of our most prized donations and events.
Fund-in-Need
Funds raised through the Fund-in-Need have allowed us to make outta sight improvements to our school! This year we continue to focus on areas of our school grounds that need repair or replacement to remain fresh, exciting, and safe for the children. Can you dig it? With the funds raised we plan to:
- A new fence along the East side of the Sport Court
- A new fence surrounding the Kindergarten Yard
- Fence repairs along the soccer field
- New NCS signage at the school entrance
- Instrument storage in Music Room
- Garden Projects:
- Greenhouse repairs & upgraded irrigation, wood for new planter boxes, painting the garden shed
- Install four additional benches in the alcove at the center of the school
- Sand & stain the picnic tables and benches
- Student furniture
Fund-in-need dollars will make sure the campus keeps on truckin’ for many years.
Tickets
As a result of the physical event being canceled, the value of your ticket is now fully tax-deductible. This also applies to faculty/staff sponsored tickets. Alternatively, if you would prefer a refund, please email Laurelle Anspach lanspach@nusd.org by March 25, 2020.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your support and participation in making this Virtual Enchanted Garden event a great success. Please stay tuned for additional details from the EG Committee.
With gratitude,
April Jackson and Mel Hall
